I have always struggled with my weight. I put myself on my first “diet” when I was 15. I went through a depressing time in my life when I really stopped talking care of myself. I was working a sedentary job that I hated, pushing paperwork and sitting at a desk for 8 hours a day. I got up to 220 lbs. I found myself in my doctors office being told that I was well on my way to becoming a diabetic if I didn’t change my eating habits and lose some weight. That was my wake up call. So, I started walking. Everywhere. I stopped eating take out and pizza and started cooking for myself. I lost over 100 lbs, but that triggered something inside me and made me think it wasn’t enough. So, I swung the opposite way... I went from binge eating daily to eating nothing but an apple and some cereal every day. I was diagnosed with every eating disorder... anorexia, bulimia, binge eating, excessive exercise. I was diagnosed with Eating Disorder Not Otherwise Specified (EDNOS) meaning I had them all. I was in a toxic and abusive marriage and I gave up on life and on myself. I weighed 99 lbs. I went to inpatient treatment and IOP for years to learn how to eat again and cope with my Eating Disorder thoughts. I got pregnant and left that abusive relationship. I found me again. I started working again as a personal trainer and continued therapy to overcome my eating disorders. Once I felt I had my Eating Disorder under control, I decided to compete and I won my figure pro card. I worked with a coach (because even coaches need coaches) and I worked really hard to fix my body and restore my metabolism after the years of damage I had done to it. It took me years of lifting and doing macros to put on the muscle I have now. Now, I am maintaining at a healthy weight and getting back to doing the things I love for fun, like hiking and hitting the weights. Not as a way to punish my body for eating but because I want to. Because I love to. I have learned to manage my Eating Disorder. It will always be there, but it doesn’t control me anymore. It doesn’t run my life. I am happy. I am healthy. I am strong. And I know that YOU can be too.

I have been very passionate about all things fitness related since 2014. It all started 7 years ago when I weighed just over 180 pounds and not only was I physically unhealthy but I was mentally unhappy. I had tried meal plans, herbalife, keto… you name it, and all of them created an even unhealthier relationship with my body and with food. That’s when I discovered macros! I have been tracking macros for about 4 years consistently and coaching others on how to do the same. I have sustained a healthy weight and body fat percentage and the relationship I have with food is much healthier. I no longer see it as a way to cope with stress in my life but rather, as fuel for my body. I truly believe macros are the most sustainable and last program you will ever need. I have an extreme passion for helping people look and feel their best, because that is what this is all about!

My interest in fitness began during high school sports. I loved being physically active and feeling strong. That is also when I first began to develop body image issues. I remember seeing my swimmer’s six pack abs and feeling accomplished and strong, only to be criticized by loved ones: “Girls shouldn’t look like that”! I was shamed for being strong and lean. Off to college I went, and promptly gained the freshman 15. The cycle of yo-yo dieting soon ensued. I had a form of exercise bulimia. I would shame myself when I made a poor food choice, and then punish myself with extreme workouts. Needless to say I lost the weight…only to regain it again. I went on to gain/lose weight for years, all the while feeling ashamed of myself and feeling less than. Fast forward through nursing school and grad school. I was working full time and going to school full time, all while raising my two little girls. I was under a lot of pressure and I would eat to cope. I found myself in a really unhappy place, putting everyone and everything before myself. I decided to make a change. That I was worth it! I wanted to be healthy, happy, and energetic. I wanted to have a healthy relationship with food. I had the medical knowledge and the nutrition knowledge. I even studied the obesity research and the psychology of weight loss, however I just couldn’t seem to make it work for me. That’s when I decided to get help and was introduced to macros. Absolutely life-changing! I learned how to make healthy food choices while still fitting in little indulgences. I learned how different proportions of macros made me feel. Yes, I lost the weight. But more importantly I learned how to fuel my body and have a healthy relationship with food. I feel strong, energetic, and at peace with food and with my body.
I am passionate about how nutrition can transform the body and the mind, and driven to help you become the best version of yourself!

Growing up, I was an athlete. I’ve always loved moving my body and being active. I also really loved food, but that wasn’t a problem until I moved away to college and spent my time in class or doing all the things college kids do for fun when they move across the country.
I spent the majority of my adult life caring for the needs of others. I was an ICU nurse at a busy Phoenix hospital. I got married, started a family, and stopped working. My pregnancies were full of ups and downs and I tried to manage my stress and anxiety by eating. I tried every diet imaginable. Each one failed miserably, leading to more weight gain and an even lower self-esteem. After my last pregnancy, my untreated anxiety and depression came crashing down like a ton of bricks. I had completely forgotten how to take care of myself.
I am an adult who struggles with anxiety and ADHD. I am a Mom who probably should have been treated for postpartum depression. I developed an unhealthy relationship with food as a result of not seeking proper care for the VERY normal things I was experiencing.
I decided that I had to make myself a priority. I had to put in the work. I talked to my NP about my physical and mental health, and I hired Rochelle. I made the commitment. I put my nose down and did something for myself. I finally invested the time to understand how nutrition impacts my body. I refocused my priorities.
I lost 70 pounds and have maintained that weight loss for nearly 3 years. I have continued to use the program that I learned from Rochelle to this day. I love helping people understand that this is a lifelong, maintainable lifestyle. I wish that everyone could experience the sense of pride that comes when you stop fighting your body and discover what it needs to function at it’s best. I now know how to properly fuel my body so that I can run around and play with my kids because THAT is something I always want them to remember. THAT is what this is ALL about… being the best version of yourself that you can be.
